For neck problems -
we usually do Manya basti
with Mahavishagarbha tailam
Nirgundiyadi tailam
karpashasthyadi tailam
dashmool nirgundiyadi tailam.

also look for ama conditions at that area.

sometimes dashanga lepam application for 7 days helps

The effects of massage vary with the time of day. During the day it relaxes and refreshes, giving increased energy. In the evening it is more tranquillizing. There are many kinds of oil which is used in the Ayurveda massage therapy, from the list of these oils some of them are already discussed into the above post and some of them are here -
1. Nirgundyadi oil - This oil is help in eczema, psoriasis, itching of skin and related skin diseases.
2. Sahchar oil - This kind of oil help into the Vata disorders related to pain and impaired motor functions.
3. Mahavishagarbha oil - This is very useful oil which help in to get relief from the back pain.
4. Baby massage Oil - A special formulation oil which is used for baby massage.
5. Pitta Oil - Massage oil for Pitta constitution people.

for neck and back problems after examination an oil could be selected but preferably mahamash oil can be used.... you can also use karpashastyadi tailam for neck problems
